AN ACT Relating to health insurance policies; and adding a new section to chapter 48.43 RCW.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

NEW SECTION.  Sec. 1   A new section is added to chapter 48.43 RCW to read as follows:
     (1) After the effective date of this section, no health carrier may deliver, issue, or renew a health insurance policy that includes any additional coverage mandates, beyond those mandates in effect on the effective date of this section.
     (2) The office of the insurance commissioner shall contract for an independent health care actuarial review of all existing health care coverage mandates. The first mandate to be reviewed is the requirement to cover every category of health care provider as required by RCW 48.43.045.
