     TO THE HONORABLE GEORGE W. BUSH, PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES, AND TO THE PRESIDENT OF THE SENATE AND THE SPEAKER OF THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES, AND TO THE SENATE AND HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE UNITED STATES, IN CONGRESS ASSEMBLED, AND TO THE SECRETARY OF VETERANS AFFAIRS:
     We, your Memorialists, the Senate and House of Representatives of the State of Washington, in legislative session assembled, respectfully represent and petition as follows:
     WHEREAS, Members of the Reserves and National Guard who are called to serve our nation in Afghanistan, Iraq, and during other hostilities are making great sacrifices for our country; and
     WHEREAS, There is no guarantee that Veterans of the Reserves and National Guard will receive benefits under the Department of Veterans Affairs for war-related health care problems after two years from their date of discharge; and
     WHEREAS, The Department of Veterans Affairs has offered two years of coverage of war-related health care problems on behalf of members of the Reserves and National Guard who serve during hostilities;
     NOW, THEREFORE, Your Memorialists respectfully pray that the Department of Veterans Affairs provide a guarantee that these benefits be made permanent.
     BE IT RESOLVED, That copies of this Memorial be immediately transmitted to the Honorable George W. Bush, President of the United States, the President of the United States Senate, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, and each member of Congress from the State of Washington, and the Secretary of the United States Department of Veterans Affairs.
