WHEREAS, Steve Clarke, the principal of Bellingham High School, has
been named high school principal of the year by the Washington
Association of Secondary School Principals; and
WHEREAS, He has earned this honor through hard work, creativity,
and dedication to the welfare of students, teachers, and staff; and
WHEREAS, He has created a school culture that honors every
individual, and is known by all students as someone who cares deeply
about each of them; and
WHEREAS, His leadership has helped students at Bellingham High
School achieve at higher levels than students in other, similar
schools; and
WHEREAS, The consequences of high student achievement include
better lives for students and greater prosperity and civic involvement
for his community; and
WHEREAS, His natural modesty and collaborative nature led him to
credit teachers, staff, and students for winning this award;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives
offer its gratitude and commendation to Principal Steve Clarke and to
the students, teachers, and staff with whom he wishes to share this
honor; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be
immediately transmitted by the Chief Clerk of the House of
Representatives to Steve Clarke and his family, Bellingham High School,
the Bellingham School Board, and the Association of Washington
Principals.
