WHEREAS, Pharmacists are the first line of defense when it comes to
providing health care to the general public; and
WHEREAS, Pharmacists provide their patients with guidance and
counseling regarding the use of prescription and nonprescription drugs;
and
WHEREAS, Pharmacists are instrumental in performing disease
management for their patients and, with the graying of America, will
play an increasingly important role in the health of its citizens; and
WHEREAS, Pharmacists have been recognized as the most trusted
professionals;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives
recognize today, Friday, February 3, 2006, as Pharmacy Day as declared
by Governor Gregoire, and applaud the work and commitment of the men
and women pharmacists and pharmacy students from both Washington State
University and the University of Washington; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be
immediately transmitted by the Chief Clerk of the House of
Representatives to the Washington State Pharmacy Association and to the
Colleges of Pharmacy at the University of Washington and Washington
State University.
