     AN ACT Relating to recreational vehicle appurtenances; and adding a new section to chapter 46.44 RCW.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

NEW SECTION.  Sec. 1   A new section is added to chapter 46.44 RCW to read as follows:
     Motor homes, travel trailers, and campers may exceed the maximum width established under RCW 46.44.010 if the excess width is attributable to appurtenances that extend no further than six inches beyond either sidewall of the vehicle. For purposes of this section, an appurtenance is an integral part of the vehicle and includes, but is not limited to, awnings, grab handles, lighting equipment, vents, and cameras. An appurtenance on the sidewall of a vehicle may not be used as a load carrying device.
