On page 294, line 18, correct the total.
On page 295, line 32, strike all of subsection 7
Renumber the remaining subsections consecutively
On page 299, line 7, increase the general fund--state appropriation for FY 09 by $150,000
On page 299, line 11, correct the total.
On page 301, after line 30, insert:
"(14)$150,000 of the general fund--state appropriation for fiscal year 2009 is provided solely for encouraging private match investment for innovative, existing local early learning coalitions to achieve one or more of the following:(a)Increase communities’ abilities to implement their business plans for comprehensive local and regional early learning systems;
(b)Involve parents in their children’s education;
(c)Enhance coordination between the early childhood and K-12 system;
(d)Improve training and support for raising the level of child caregivers professional skills to ensure that children are healthy and ready to succeed in school and life."
EFFECT: Eliminates funding and requirement for the Higher Eduction Coordinating Board to implement Second Substitute House Bill 2591 (higher education data). Provides funding to the Department of Early Learning to encourage private match funding for existing local early learning coalitions.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Increases General Fund-State by $30,000.
