   On page 8, at the beginning of line 17, insert "(1)"

   On page 8, after line 25, insert the following:

   "(2) The court at the time of the probable cause hearing and before an order of commitment is entered shall inform the person both orally and in writing that the failure to make a good faith effort to seek voluntary treatment as provided in RCW 71.05.230 will result in the loss of his or her firearm rights if the person is subsequently detained for involuntary treatment under this section.

   (3)"

   On page 9, at the beginning of line 4, insert "(4)"

   On page 12, beginning on line 1, after "(7)" strike all material through "committed" on line 3 and insert "The court at the time of the commitment hearing and before an order of commitment is entered shall inform the minor both orally and in writing that the failure to make a good faith effort to seek voluntary treatment as provided in RCW 71.34.730 will result in the loss of his or her firearm rights if the minor is subsequently detained for involuntary treatment under this section"

   On page 13, after line 1, insert the following:

   "NEW SECTION. Sec. 8. If section 4(2) of this act, or section 7(7) of this act, or its application to any person or circumstance is held invalid, the remainder of the act or the application of the provision to other persons or circumstances is not affected."

   Correct the title.

EFFECT: Requires the court, in both adult and minor 14-day commitment proceedings, to inform the person both orally and in writing that failure to make a good faith effort to seek voluntary treatment will result in the loss of his or her firearm rights if the person is subsequently involuntarily committed. Adds a severability clause to these new notice provisions.
