On page 2, line 14, after "(b)" insert "(i)"
On page 2, line 15, after "standard" insert ";
(ii) If it is determined that general and specialty contractors
should become licensed, licensing requirements shall become effective
January 1, 2009; and
(c) The need to increase the bonding requirements of general and
specialty contractors, including the need to increase the current
bonding requirements to one hundred thousand dollars"
On page 2, beginning on line 17, strike all of section 2 and insert the following:
"NEW SECTION. Sec. 2 This act is necessary for the immediate
preservation of the public peace, health, or safety, or support of the
state government and its existing public institutions, and takes effect
immediately."

On page 1, line 2 of the title, after "licensing;" strike the remainder of the title and insert "creating a new section; providing an expiration date; and declaring an emergency."
EFFECT: (1) An emergency clause is added and the null and void
clause is deleted.
(2) The sunrise review is due back to the Legislature by September
1, 2008, instead of October 1, 2008.
(3) If it is determined that contractors should be licensed, such
licensing requirements are to be effective January 1, 2009.
(4) The DOL is to look at the bonding requirements of contractors
to determine whether they should be increased, including whether they
should be increased to $100K.
