Brief Description: Requesting the Clinton ferry terminal be named the "Jack Metcalf Ferry Terminal."

Background:
The Washington State Transportation Commission (Commission) is responsible for naming
transportation facilities. The Commission's policy regarding the naming of transportation
facilities states that community support shall be measured, preferably through a resolution or
memorial adopted by the Legislature. The Commission also considers the following evidence
when making a determination:
Following final Commission action naming the facility, the DOT designs and installs the appropriate signs in accordance with state and federal standards.
Summary of Bill:
The memorial recognizes the following in its message to the Secretary of Transportation, the
Commission, and the DOT. The Legislature represents that Jack Metcalf:
The Legislature requests that copies of the memorial be immediately transmitted to the Secretary of Transportation, the DOT, and the Commission, and that the Commission commence proceedings to name the Clinton Ferry Terminal in Clinton, Washington, the "Jack Metcalf Ferry Terminal."
Appropriation: None.
Fiscal Note: Not requested.
Effective Date: The bill takes effect 90 days after adjournment of session in which bill is
passed.
