Background: Congress enacted the State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP) to provide health coverage to low-income children without health insurance living in households whose income exceeds the Medicaid eligibility level. If Congress does not reauthorize the program, federal funding for this program will end.
Summary of Bill: Congress is requested to reauthorize the State Children's Health Insurance Program and appropriate sufficient funds to cover all eligible children.
