Background: In Costco Corp. V. Hoen, et al., the U.S. District Court for the western district of Washington struck down the Washington law that allowed in-state, but not out-of-state, wineries and breweries to ship their products directly to retailers. Pursuant to 2SSB 6823 (2006), the Legislature extended this direct shipping privilege to out-of-state wineries and breweries. These provisions expire on June 30, 2008.
