Background: Current law is silent regarding idling vehicles in Washington State Ferries holding areas.

Summary of Bill: Owners of vehicles waiting in a Washington State ferries holding area are prohibited from idling gasoline-powered vehicles in excess of three consecutive minutes and diesel-powered vehicles in excess of five consecutive minutes. Various exemptions are provided.

Appropriation: None.

Fiscal Note: Not requested.
