    On page 2, line 8, after "(4)" strike everything through "misdemeanor" on line 9 and insert "A violation of this section is punishable by a fine of not more than one thousand dollars"

EFFECT:   Removes language designating abandonment of a dependent person in the fourth degree as a misdemeanor, and provides that a violation is punishable by a maximum fine of $1000.
