On page 1, beginning on line 5, strike all of section 1 and insert the following:
"NEW SECTION. Sec. 1 A new section is added to chapter 43.60A
RCW to read as follows:
Any retailer in the state may provide an opportunity for patrons to
make voluntary donations to the disabled veterans assistance account
created in section 2 of this act on Veterans' Day and any additional
days the retailer decides would be appropriate."
On page 2, line 16, after "repair," strike "or"
On page 2, line 17, after "shelter" insert ", or service animals"
Correct the title.
EFFECT: Removes the voluntary donation of five dollars at the time of vehicle registration. Adds that retailers may provide an opportunity for patrons to make voluntary donations to the Disabled Veterans Assistance Account. Adds service animals to the list of items that the funds in the Disabled Veterans Assistance Account can be used for.
