On page 4, after line 9 of the amendment, insert the following:
"(5) Prior to awarding any grant money under this section for the removal of sea lettuce, the department shall confirm that the grant applicant has received a personal use shellfish and seaweed license from the department of fish and wildlife under RCW 77.32.520."

EFFECT: Requires the department of ecology to confirm that a grant applicant has obtained a personal use shellfish and seaweed license from the department of fish and wildlife prior to awarding grants for sea lettuce removal activities.
