On page 4, after line 9 of the amendment, insert the following:
"(5) Prior to awarding any grant money under this section for the
removal of aquatic vegetation, the department shall obtain from the
grant applicant a signed statement documenting the applicant's
understanding of, and commitment to operate under, the maximum daily
seaweed harvest levels provided under RCW 79.135.410."
EFFECT: Requires the department of ecology to obtain from a grant applicant a signed statement documenting the applicant's understanding of other state laws that limit daily seaweed harvest levels to ten pounds.
