On page 3, line 17 of the amendment, after "beaches." insert "The priority use of money in the account is to fund projects proposing to relocate sea lettuce from areas of high concentration to areas of Puget Sound with low sea lettuce levels where the introduction of relocated sea lettuce would serve as a beneficial ecological enhancement."
On page 3, line 23 of the amendment, after "restoration" insert ". However, all nonlethal capture and relocation options must be exhausted before a grant recipient may use money from the account for lethal sea lettuce control actions"
EFFECT: Makes the relocation of sea lettuce a priority use for money in the saltwater algae control account and requires grant recipients to exhaust all nonlethal options before using money from the account for lethal sea lettuce control.
