On page 52, line 27 of the amendment, after "qualified))." insert
"The governor shall appoint two commissioners each January, except
every fourth January following January 2010 the governor shall appoint
one commissioner."
On page 53, beginning on line 24 of the amendment, after "act,"
strike all material through "section." on line 34 and insert "the
position of each sitting fish and wildlife commission member is
considered vacated on December 31, 2009.
(2) On December 31, 2009, the governor shall then reappoint, with
the advice and consent of the senate, as many of the commissioners
serving on the commission as of December 30, 2009, as are feasible
consistent with the requirements of section 71 of this act, including
the requirement that one member reside in each of the six
administrative regions. If necessary, the governor shall appoint, with
the advice and consent of the senate, other registered voters to the
fish and wildlife commission as are necessary to comply with the
requirements of section 71 of this act.
(3) When making the reappointments or appointments under subsection
(2) of this section, the governor shall reappoint or appoint two
members for a term ending January 1, 2011, two members for a term
ending January 1, 2012, two members for a term ending January 1, 2013,
and one member for a term ending January 1, 2014."
On page 56, after line 30 of the amendment, insert the following:
"NEW SECTION. Sec. 79 Sections 71 and 72 of this act take effect
December 31, 2009."
Renumber the remaining sections consecutively and correct any internal references accordingly.

EFFECT: Establishes that the governor must reappoint existing commissioners where feasible. Makes sections 71 and 72 of this act effective December 31, 2009.
