Background:
Under current law, vehicle licensing subagents have a contract with a county auditor to perform vehicle licensing functions. Subagents collect a service fee of $10 for changes in a certificate of ownership, with or without registration renewal, or verifications of the records and preparation of an affidavit of lost title. Subagents charge a $4 service fee for renewing a vehicle registration or other vehicle services.
Summary of Bill:
The vehicle licensing subagent service fee for a certificate of ownership and other related services is increased from $10 to $12. The fee for renewing a registration or other services is increased from $4 to $5.

Fiscal Note: Not requested.
Effective Date: The bill takes effect 90 days after adjournment of the session in which the bill is passed.
