Brief Description: Requesting that state route number 502 be named the "Battle Ground Highway" and that a portion of state route number 503 be named the "Lewisville Highway.".

Brief Summary of Bill

Asks the Washington State Transportation Commission (Commission) to name State Route 502 the "Battle Ground Highway."
Asks the Commission to name a section of State Route 503 the "Lewisville Highway."

Background:

Under current law, the Washington State Transportation Commission (Commission) is responsible for naming state transportation facilities. An entity or person requesting that a facility be named or renamed must provide sufficient evidence indicating community support and acceptance of the proposal.

The Commission consults with the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) before taking final action to name or rename a state transportation facility. After the Commission takes action to name or rename a facility, the WSDOT designs and installs the appropriate signs.

Summary of Bill:

The Commission is asked to name State Route 502 the "Battle Ground Highway." The Commission is also asked to name a segment of State Route 503 the "Lewisville Highway." The section of State Route 503 to be named is from the junction of State Route 500 at Orchards to the junction of State Route 502 and northerly to Amboy.
