Background: Many state agencies are required to write reports on a variety of topics and many of those must be delivered to the Legislature and other interested parties on a specific schedule.

Summary of Bill: Many of the provisions related to reports required of state agencies are changed. Twenty-one reports are eliminated and the frequency of reporting for an additional 13 reports is changed. The changes to specific reports are reported below by type of change and agency.

Reports Being Eliminated: Department of Social and Health Services:

Foster Care Report;

Dependency and Termination Report;

Immigration Naturalization Report;

Intensive Family Preservation Services Report;

Washington Telephone Assistance Program Report; and

WorkFirst Outcomes Report.

Department of Health (DOH):

Adverse Hospital Events Report;

State Asthma Plan Progress Reports;

Temporary Worker Housing Report; and

Funds to local Health Jurisdictions.

Department of Early Learning:

Improving Early Childhood Education Status Report; and

Early Childhood Education and Assistance Performance Report.

Department of Financial Institutions (DFI):

Mortgage Lending Complaints Report; and

Mortgage Lending Fraud Prosecution Account Report.

Washington State Patrol:

Missing and Exploited Children Task Force Report;

Uniformity of Regulations Report; and

Fire Protection Report.

Office of Financial Management (OFM):

Maintenance of State Facilities Report; and

Prevailing Party Fee and Expense Report.

Staff Summary of Public Testimony: PRO: This bill is the product of work by OFM. Agencies identified reports that were not being used or could be done less frequently. These reports exist as statutory requirements so a bill was necessary to change these requirements.
