WHEREAS, Arthur "Art" DeLisle was a dedicated paramedic and
firefighter who spent more than a decade serving and helping the people
of Snohomish County; and
WHEREAS, During his career as a paramedic, DeLisle helped bring
twenty-three healthy babies into the world; and
WHEREAS, His confidence in his own abilities inspired co-workers to
hold themselves and their work to the highest standards; and
WHEREAS, DeLisle served the United States with pride in the United
States Marine Corps and was deployed to Beirut, Lebanon, during the
1970's; and
WHEREAS, Art DeLisle's uplifting smile brought about infectious
happiness everywhere he went, and with every conversation he held; and
WHEREAS, Art DeLisle touched the lives of hundreds in his community
through his gifts as a medical trainer, emergency caregiver, and
firefighter; and
WHEREAS, Snohomish County valued his leadership, his energy, and
his dedication to the community; and
WHEREAS, Art DeLisle's lifestyle exemplified what it means to live
life to the fullest; and
WHEREAS, His exhilarating adventures and global travels encouraged
those around him to see beyond borders and expand their world views;
and
WHEREAS, Art DeLisle was a loving father, a dedicated husband, an
avid adventurer, a lifelong traveler, and an inspiring servant;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives
recognizes and honors Arthur "Art" DeLisle's dedication to the people
of Snohomish County and the State of Washington as a paramedic and
firefighter, his valued leadership that inspired so many, and his
admired sense of adventure; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be
immediately transmitted by the Chief Clerk of the House of
Representatives to the DeLisle family, the Edmonds Fire Department, and
the International Association of Firefighters Local 1828.
