HB 2134 - DIGEST

Requires local governments to consider impacts to heritage plants that may reside on a proposed project site.

Prohibits local governments from issuing permits for project proposals affecting or likely to affect heritage plants without prior development and implementation of an appropriate mitigation process for the affected or likely to be affected plants.

Requires the department of natural resources, the department of fish and wildlife, and the parks and recreation commission to consider impacts to heritage plants that may reside on all land owned, leased, or managed by the department or commission.

Prohibits the department of natural resources, the department of fish and wildlife, and the parks and recreation commission from conducting or allowing activities of any sort affecting or likely to affect heritage plants without prior development and implementation of an appropriate mitigation process for the affected or likely to be affected plants.
