    On page 39, line 10, after "RCW;" strike "and"

    On page 39, line 13, after "surrogacy" insert "; and

    (d) He, she, or they have provided verification to the department of health that he, she, or they own adequate assets or maintain an adequate income to support the financial costs of caring for the child or children that might result from a surrogacy"

EFFECT:  Changes the definition of "compensation." Requires the intended parent or parents to have provided verification to the Department of Health by the time the surrogacy contract is executed that he, she, or they possess adequate assets or income to support a child.
