    On page 8, line 29, after "This" strike "must be accomplished by return receipt" and insert "shall be accomplished by return receipt requested"

    On page 9, line 15, after "filing" insert "by telephone or electronic means, followed by written communication as necessary, to ensure that the applicant has received the full written decision"

EFFECT:  (1) Specifies that decisions on shoreline permit applications, which must be filed with the Department of Ecology (DOE) and the Attorney General, must be filed by return receipt requested mail rather than by return receipt mail. (2) Adds a provision requiring the DOE to notify the local government and the applicant on the date of filing by telephone or other electronic means, followed by written communication as necessary, to ensure that the applicant has received the full written decision.
