Background:
In 2010, the Legislature passed a bill that reorganized and recodified chapter 42.17 RCW relating to campaign finance disclosure and contributions. The recodified campaign finance laws are contained in chapter 42.17A and become effective January 1, 2012.
Two other bills amending chapter 42.17 RCW passed in 2010. One bill eliminated the requirement to file certain campaign finance reports with county election officials, and the other bill extended campaign contribution limits to all county offices, city council office, and mayoral office.
Summary of Bill:
Technical changes are made to various statutes to correct cross references resulting from the recodification of chapter 42.17 RCW. In addition, double amendments resulting from multiple sections of statute amended in three separate bills are corrected. No policy changes are made.

Effective Date: The bill takes effect January 1, 2012.
