WHEREAS, Vancouver's Chris Larsen triumphed over all competitors in
the "2010 Long Haul Bombers Stadium Power Tour"; and
WHEREAS, This 2010 Stadium Power Tour was a hard-fought,
season-long home run derby that culminated last September with Larsen
capturing the tournament's fantastic finals showdown at New York City's
Citi Field, home of Major League Baseball's New York Mets; and
WHEREAS, Larsen in his rookie year on the Stadium Power Tour topped
an extraordinarily competitive field of homer-smashers assembled from
small villages, medium towns, and big cities all over the nation; and
WHEREAS, The Team DeMarini slugger was also named an Amateur
Softball Association of America First-Team All-American and a United
States Specialty Sports Association Major All-World Selection; and
WHEREAS, The newly crowned Long Haul Bombers Stadium Power Tour
titleholder also played on Team USA this past year; and
WHEREAS, Larsen clobbered dingers at a clip grand enough to grab
hold of the prestigious, season-long tater tour's crown, and then he
entered the Big Apple finale with five other four-bag blasters for the
exciting face-off that meant nothing less than going home with all the
Long Haul Bomber marbles; and
WHEREAS, Larsen and Team DeMarini teammate Geno Buck seized the
treasured Manufacturer's Cup, which is the highly revered prize for
most combined team points in the rigorous competition; and
WHEREAS, This past season's Stadium Power Tour launched last May in
Florida and touched down in big-league stadiums in New England, the
South, the Rocky Mountains, the Midwest, Washington, D.C., a Canadian
province, and Seattle before finally winding up at Citi Field for the
championship;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives
joins the rest of the Evergreen State in saluting and celebrating
Vancouver's Chris Larsen, the 2010 Long Haul Bombers Stadium Power Tour
Champion; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be
immediately transmitted to Chris Larsen, to the Long Haul Bombers
Stadium Power Tour, and to DeMarini Sports.
