Prohibits, unless certain requirements are met, the manufacturing, sale, or distribution of a children's product containing TRIS in amounts greater than one hundred parts per million in any component.Authorizes manufacturers, wholesalers, and retailers to sell children's products containing TRIS until July 1, 2014, if the manufacturers of the products conduct and submit to the department of ecology an alternatives assessment by July 1, 2013.Requires the department of ecology to provide technical assistance to any manufacturer conducting an alternatives assessment that requests assistance.
SB 6631 by Senators McAuliffe, Kohl-Welles, and Chase Establishing a medical emergency response program for high schools. Requires the superintendent of public instruction, in consultation with school districts and stakeholder groups, to develop and implement a medical emergency response program to include an automated external defibrillator program for each high school in the state.
SB 6632 by Senators Keiser and Frockt Addressing the disposition of the state's revenues from the tobacco litigation national master settlement agreement. Declares it is the public policy of the state and a recognized governmental function to assist in securitizing the revenue stream from the master settlement agreement between the state and tobacco product manufacturers in order to provide a source of revenue for the state and federal basic health plan and other medical care services.Issues nonrecourse revenue bonds to make funds available for these medical care services as a bridge to full implementation of the federal affordable care act in 2014.Provides for submission of the act to a vote of the people.
