EFFECT: From August 1, 2013, through June 30, 2015, the cover requirement applies when traveling at speeds of more than thirty-five miles per hour on a paved public highway when hauling dirt, sand, rocks, or gravel susceptible to being dropped, spilled, leaked, or otherwise escaping from the vehicle unless six inches of freeboard is maintained within the bed. After June 30, 2015, the cover requirement applies when traveling at speeds of more than thirty-five miles per hour on a paved public highway when hauling dirt, sand, rocks, or gravel susceptible to being dropped, spilled, leaked, or otherwise escaping from the vehicle.
