    On page 2, at the beginning of line 32, strike "((state system and))" and insert "state system and"

    On page 2, beginning on line 36, after "2011." strike all material through "firearm.))" on page 3, line 3, and insert "However, a chief of police or sheriff, or a designee of either, shall continue to check the department of social and health services' electronic database and with other agencies or resources as appropriate, to determine whether applicants are ineligible under RCW 9.41.040 to possess a firearm."

EFFECT:   Reinstates the current law requirement that a state background check be conducted for a person purchasing a pistol who produces a valid concealed pistol license issued prior to July 22, 2011.
