    On page 1, after line 4, insert the following:

    "NEW SECTION. Sec. 1.  It is the intent of the legislature that an enhanced public transportation zone be imposed for only a single three year period to provide necessary funding while a permanent solution to a funding crisis is implemented by the establishing transit agency."

    Renumber the remaining sections consecutively and correct any internal references accordingly.

    On page 3, at the beginning of line 26, strike "82.14.045, may not exceed" and insert "82.14.045, must equal"

    On page 3, line 27, after "(i)" strike "five" and insert "three"

EFFECT:  Adds an intent section stating that an enhanced public transportation zone is not intended to be renewed.  Requires an enhanced public transportation zone (Zone) to levy a sales tax such that the maximum 0.9% sales tax rate is in effect within the zone.  Limits the time a Zone may be in effect before it must be renewed to three years.
