Background: The Public Disclosure Commission (PDC) is the state's campaign finance regulatory agency. It is empowered to provide timely public access to information about the financing of political campaigns, lobbyist expenditures, and the financial affairs of public officials and candidates; and to ensure compliance with contribution limits and other campaign finance restrictions.

Every elected official and executive state officer must file a statement of financial affairs for the preceding calendar year with the PDC between January 1 and April 15. Executive state officers include administrative law judges, state cabinet-level officials and agency directors, legislative and gubernatorial professional staff members, trustees, and commissioners.

Summary of Bill: The chief executive officer, general counsel, vice presidents, and board of trustees of any public hospital district with a population over 150,000 must file annual personal financial affairs statements with the PDC.
