WHEREAS, The Freeman High School Scotties are the 2013 State 1A
Football Champions; and
WHEREAS, This championship reflects the hard work of the student
athletes at Freeman High School; and
WHEREAS, Head Coach Jim Wood, who has been with the Scotties since
2004, led the team to an undefeated season of fourteen wins to zero
losses overall, six to zero in District games; and
WHEREAS, A state championship also reflects the tremendous
sacrifices of coaches, managers, parents, and the community; and
WHEREAS, The Rockford community, including staff, parents, and
students, all came out to show their support; and
WHEREAS, The excellent tradition of continual success reflects the
outstanding leadership at the Freeman School District; and
WHEREAS, It takes teamwork to win a state title and each player
deserves recognition for their time and commitment to football. The
players for the State Champions representing Freeman High School are
Max Laib, JT Neely, Ryan Sousa, Markus Goldbach, Ben Darcy, Keegan
Luhr, Preston Hoppman, Jesse Kitterman, Billy Sims, Jesse Schmidlkofer,
AJ Iris, Aaron Mettler, Robbie McClure, Jesse Unfred, Conner Rubright,
Josh McCain, Jack Paukert, Konner Forshag, McKabe Cottrell, Brayden
Aller, Mike Cahill, Michael Andrews, Bram Schweiger, Josiah Thompson,
Brady Unfred, Nolan Laabs, Zach Van Soest, Ian Johnston, Jake Hansen,
Sebastian Hyta, Jordan Rose, Hunter Beaulaurier, Wyatt Dashiell, Peyton
Smetana, Teigan Glidewell, Connor McVay, Max Axtell, Billy Broussard,
Colin Ayers, and Kian Genteman. The Coaches for the team are Jim Wood,
Kelly Neely, Bill Wigen, Jon Dresback, Andrew Dresback, Mike Hays, Tim
Smetana, Noah McWilliams, Chad Ripke, and Andrew Buchowski.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives
recognize and honor the Freeman High School Scotties Football Team and
the Rockford community for their well-earned championship and
incredible sense of community, pride, and student excellence; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be
immediately transmitted by the Chief Clerk of the House of
Representatives to the Scotties Head Coach, Jim Wood, and the Principal
of Freeman High School, Jim Straw, for presentation to the student
body.
