Requires the office of the superintendent of public instruction to create the STEM AP master teacher pilot program in five geographically diverse school districts to: (1) Elevate the status of the STEM and AP teaching profession; |
(2) Provide exemplary STEM teachers with opportunities to serve as master teachers while they remain in their own classrooms working directly with students; |
(3) Provide an opportunity for experienced and exemplary teachers to help and mentor new teachers and other teachers in the building; and |
(4) Provide a career advancement structure that provides administrative-level compensation for master teachers. |
Prohibits the granting of waivers from certain minimum required annual instructional hour offerings. |
Makes an appropriation. |
