SB 6341 - DIGEST

Requires the department of enterprise services to: (1) Develop the LEED plus W standard which is a high-performance public building standard designed to maximize the sustainability and environmental performance of major facility projects; and

(2) Consult with the high-performance buildings advisory committee, other appropriate agencies, subject matter experts, and stakeholders in developing the initial standard.

Requires major facility projects of public agencies and public school districts to be designed, constructed, and certified to at least the LEED plus W standard, if the agency or district receives funding in a capital budget or if the project is financed through a financing contract.

Requires the state building code council, in consultation with appropriate agencies, subject matter experts, and stakeholders, to review the state building code and the international green construction code regarding the LEED plus W standard.
