    On page 8, line 20 of the striking amendment, after "renewed;" strike "and"

 

    On page 8, line 22 of the striking amendment, after "cameras" insert "; and

    (g) How, under what circumstances, and to what extent an officer will be subject to disciplinary action based on footage from body worn camera recordings."

 

    On page 8, line 23 of the striking amendment, after "(2)" insert "Policies addressing the issues identified in subsection (a), (b), (c), (e), and (g) of subsection (1) of this section are subject to collective bargaining.

    (3)"

 

    Renumber the remaining subsection consecutively and correct internal references accordingly.

 

 

 

 

    EFFECT:   Requires body worn camera policies to address how, under what circumstances, and to what extent an officer will be subject to disciplinary action based on footage from body worn camera recordings.

 

Requires body worn camera policies addressing the following issues to be collectively bargained:

·         When the cameras must be activated or deactivated;

·         How an officer is to respond when a person may not be willing to communicate due to the recording;

·         How an officer will document when and why a camera was deactivated;

·         How officers are to be trained on body worn camera usage; and

·         Circumstances under which an officer will be subject to disciplinary action based on body worn camera footage.
