    On page 18, line 19 of the striking amendment, after "commencing" strike "with the effective date of this section" and insert "September 1, 2014"

    On page 21, beginning on line 17 of the striking amendment, strike all of subsection (9)

    Renumber the remaining subsections consecutively and correct any internal references accordingly.

EFFECT:   Specifies that the five-year period during which charter schools may be established begins September 1, 2014, rather than the date on which the bill becomes law.  For the purpose of the forty charter school limitation, schools previously authorized as charters by the commission that enter into new charter contracts are included in the count of charter schools.
