Eliminates the use of common core state standards and assessments in this state and makes changes in current law to effectuate this change.

Requires the superintendent of public instruction to: (1) Notify the smarter balanced assessment multistate consortium that this state is no longer a participant in the consortium and will not implement the assessment developed by the consortium to assess the common core state standards;

(2) Revise this state's essential academic learning requirements so the requirements do not align with the common core state standards developed by a multistate consortium; and

(3) Develop assessments that are aligned with the revised essential academic learning requirements.
