AN ACT Relating to providing a business and occupation tax exemption for accountable communities of health; adding a new section to chapter 82.04 RCW; creating new sections; and declaring an emergency.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:
NEW SECTION.  Sec. 1.  A new section is added to chapter 82.04 RCW to read as follows:
(1) This chapter does not apply to any organization designated by the health care authority under RCW 41.05.800 as a community of health with respect to amounts received from local governments, the state of Washington, or the federal government.
(2) The exemption provided in subsection (1) of this section applies only to the community of health and not to any individual or organization participating in, or receiving funds from, the community of health.
NEW SECTION.  Sec. 2.  The provisions of RCW 82.32.805 and 82.32.808 do not apply to this act.
NEW SECTION.  Sec. 3.  Section 1 of this act applies prospectively only to amounts received by a community of health on or after the effective date of section 1 of this act.
NEW SECTION.  Sec. 4.  This act is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, or safety, or support of the state government and its existing public institutions, and takes effect immediately.
