(DIGEST AS ENACTED)

Revises the opportunity scholarship act to: (1) Increase the number of professional-technical certificates and professional-technical degrees in high employer-demand programs and certain other programs; and

(2) Include in the definition of "eligible student," for purposes of this act, a resident student who has been accepted at an institution of higher education into a professional-technical degree program or a professional-technical certificate program in an eligible education program.

Requires an opportunity scholarship to be automatically renewed: (1) If the participant annually submits documentation of filing a free application for federal student aid and for available federal education tax credits, including the American opportunity tax credit; or

(2) If ineligible to apply for federal student aid, the participant must annually submit documentation of filing a state financial aid application as approved by the office of student financial assistance.

Creates the student support pathways account which replaces the pathways scholarship account.
