On page 78, after line 5, insert the following:
"NEW SECTION. Sec. 33. $5,000,000 of the general fund—state appropriation for fiscal year 2025 is provided solely for the administrative office of the courts to provide grant funding for the creation of new DUI courts or the expansion of services being provided to an existing DUI court. Funding provided under this section may not supplant existing funds utilized for this purpose.
NEW SECTION. Sec. 34. $5,000,000 of the general fund—state appropriation for fiscal year 2025 is provided solely for the Washington state patrol to increase patrols related to impaired driving, purchase supplies and necessary equipment used to deter and assess impaired driving offenses, and to conduct a public awareness campaign on impaired driving. Funding provided under this section may not supplant existing funds utilized for this purpose."
Renumber the remaining sections consecutively and correct any internal references accordingly.
On page 78, line 18, after "
10.05 RCW;" insert "making appropriations;"
EFFECT: (1) Appropriates funds from the state general fund for the administrative office of the courts to provide grant funding for the creation of new DUI courts and to expand services to existing DUI courts.
(2) Appropriates funds from the state general fund for the Washington state patrol to increase patrols related to impaired driving, purchase supplies and necessary equipment used to deter and assess impaired driving offenses, and to conduct a public awareness campaign on impaired driving.
