AN ACT Relating to requiring coverage for applied behavior analysis; and adding a new section to chapter 48.43 RCW.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

NEW SECTION. Sec. 1. A new section is added to chapter 48.43 RCW to read as follows:

For health plans issued or renewed on or after January 1, 2024, health carriers shall provide coverage for applied behavior analysis therapy for the diagnostic category of intellectual disabilities, which includes intellectual disability, with a specification of severity; global developmental delay; and unspecific intellectual disability.
