On page 6, beginning on line 38 of the striking amendment, after "public" strike all material through "organization" on page 7, line 4, and insert "housing authority or public development authority, or you live in a qualified low-income housing development as defined in RCW 82.45.010"

EFFECT: Modifies the exemption from the rent and fee increase

limit for tenancies in certain qualified low-income housing

developments by removing language that limited the exemption to

those properties owned by a public housing authority, public

development authority, certain nonprofit organizations, and certain

nonprofit entities.

Removes the following exemptions from the rent and fee increase

limit:

The exemption for tenancies in dwelling units owned by a

nonprofit organization where the maximum rents are regulated by

other laws or local, state, or federal affordable housing program

requirements; and

The exemption for tenancies in dwelling units owned by certain

nonprofit entities where a nonprofit organization, housing

authority, or public development authority has the majority

decision-making power on behalf of the general partner, and where

rents are regulated by other laws or local, state, or federal

affordable housing program requirements.
