On page 7, beginning on line 19 of the striking amendment, beginning with "they" strike all material through "requirements" on line 20 and insert "the law enforcement agency ensures that they are properly trained for their delegated tasks"
On page 8, after line 39 of the striking amendment, insert the following:
"(3) Subject to RCW 4.96.041, the law enforcement agency shall defend and pay any monetary judgment arising from acts or omissions of a volunteer or youth cadet performing, or in good faith purporting to perform, the volunteer's or youth cadet's official duties."
On page 9, beginning on line 6 of the striking amendment, after "unless" strike all material through "requirements" on line 7 and insert "the law enforcement agency ensures that they are properly trained for their delegated tasks"
On page 10, after line 22 of the striking amendment, insert the following:
"(3) Subject to RCW 4.96.041, the law enforcement agency shall defend and pay any monetary judgment arising from acts or omissions of a volunteer or youth cadet performing, or in good faith purporting to perform, the volunteer's or youth cadet's official duties."

On page 12, line 31 of the striking amendment, after "ordinances" insert ".

On page 17, after line 30 of the striking amendment, insert the following:
"(3) Subject to RCW 4.96.041, the sheriff shall defend and pay any monetary judgment arising from acts or omissions of a volunteer or youth cadet performing, or in good faith purporting to perform, the volunteer's or youth cadet's official duties."
| EFFECT: Removes the requirement that volunteers or youth cadets complete peace officer training and maintain certification requirements. Requires the sheriff or local law enforcement agency to ensure that volunteers and youth cadets are properly trained for their delegated tasks. Requires the sheriff or local law enforcement agency to defend and pay monetary judgments arising from acts or omissions of volunteers or youth cadets performing, or in good faith purporting to perform, the volunteer's or youth cadet's official duties. |
