On page 18, line 2 of the striking amendment, after "RCW 36.16.110." insert "The governor or any other member of the executive branch may not appoint a person to fill the vacancy."

EFFECT: Prohibits the Governor or any other member of the executive branch from appointing a person to fill a vacancy in an elected office of sheriff.
