On page 13, beginning on line 28 of the striking amendment, after "certification" strike all material through "commission," on line 29

On page 17, beginning on line 33 of the striking amendment, after "(1)" strike all material through "RCW 36.28.025" on page 18, line 3 and insert "(a) In addition to the causes for vacancy of elective office set forth in RCW 42.12.010, a vacancy in the office of sheriff is created if the requirements of RCW 36.28.025 have not been met or have not been complied with while in office. When a vacancy has been created, the vacancy shall be filled pursuant to RCW 36.16.110. The person appointed must meet the requirements of RCW 36.28.025"

On page 18, after line 3 of the striking amendment, insert the following:

"(b) The loss or revocation of certification does not constitute a basis for a vacancy in the office of sheriff under (a) of this subsection."

On page 19, beginning on line 3 of the striking amendment, after "(9)" strike all material through "office" on line 8 and insert "The requirements of RCW 36.28.025 have not been met or have not been complied with while in office. The loss or revocation of certification does not constitute a basis for a vacancy in the office of an elected law enforcement official"

On page 19, line 11 of the striking amendment, after "of" strike "holding office" and insert "an appointed position"
