On page 19, beginning on line 27 of the striking amendment, after "investigation" strike all material through "employment" on line 28 and insert "((to determine the applicant's suitability for employment))"
On page 22, beginning on line 23 of the striking amendment, after "investigation" strike all material through "officer" on line 31 and insert "((,)) and that no information has been found that would disqualify the ((applicant)) person from certification ((, and the applicant is suitable for employment as a peace officer or corrections officer))"
| EFFECT: Removes references to background investigations being used to determine a person's suitability for employment as a peace officer, corrections officer, sheriff, police chief, or marshal. Removes the requirement that persons determined by a background investigation to have engaged in conduct meeting the criteria for mandatory decertification must be considered unsuitable for employment as a peace officer. |
