WHEREAS, We welcome to the House of Representatives the young people here today, visiting the workspace of their legislature; and

WHEREAS, In the state of Washington, we believe in leaving our state a better place than we found it, as we don't inherit the earth, we borrow it from our children; and

WHEREAS, Students are here all session working diligently serving as pages and interns, and we hope their experience in Olympia inspires them to remain informed and engaged in their democracy; and

WHEREAS, We can learn much from children, as they are exposed from birth to different places, languages, and people, and embrace those new experiences with a smile and open arms; and

WHEREAS, It is our solemn obligation to reflect on our achievements and work towards the remaining progress needed to accomplish and fulfill the rights of every child, prioritizing their health, safety, and education; and

WHEREAS, We recognize the incredible potential that resides within each child;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives encourage all the people of Washington to celebrate Children's Day and to do whatever they can to help children and students thrive.
