AN ACT Relating to prevailing wages; and amending RCW 39.12.015.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:
Sec. 1. Section 2, chapter 133, Laws of 1965 ex. sess. and RCW 39.12.015 are each amended to read as follows:
All
determinations of the prevailing rate of wage shall be made by ((the
industrial statistician of the department of labor and industries)) a
private independent research company selected by the legislative budget
committee. The determination of the prevailing rate of wage shall be made by
surveying each construction trade or craft every three years. There shall be a
determination for each county in Washington state. In collecting data for the
survey each contractor registered under chapter 18.27 RCW and licensed under
chapter 19.28 RCW shall be furnished a wage determination form prepared by the
private independent research company. In computing the accurate prevailing
wage for each county, local, state, or federal public work projects shall not
be used in computing a wage determination. The mean wage for each craft or
trade in each county shall be the prevailing wage.
