AN ACT Relating to the litter control program; and creating a new section.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:
NEW SECTION. Sec. 1. (1) The department of ecology shall conduct a study and pilot project to determine the feasibility, cost, and benefit of the department authorizing the production of a two cubic foot litter bag, to be designed by the department bearing the state-wide anti-litter symbol for use by the litter patrol program provided for in RCW 70.93.194(1). The litter bags shall be manufactured in the state of Washington and shall be made of biodegradable material.
(2) The director of the department of ecology will report the findings of the study and present an evaluation of the pilot project to the environmental affairs committee of the house of representatives and to the parks and ecology committee of the senate by June 1, 1986.
